The client runs his business as a sole proprietor. As the business grew, so did the scope of services. This resulted in a reliance on several key partners and with an expanded customer base, it was suggested that the client consider a transition to a company limited by shares.

With the help of QBA and its consultants, the client was able to understand the distinct differences between running a sole proprietor business and a company limited by shares. In view of the considerations, a decision was made by the client to carry out a transition. Using QBA's proven methodologies, a smooth transition was carried out along with all the necessary documentary requirements set out by the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA)
without any disruptions to the client's current operations. With our experience, we were also able to advise the client on the various changes required in the accounting and regulatory requirements in operating as a company. The final deliverable was a customized marketing plan that highlighted the specific needs, niches and challenges facing the industry and specific information as to how the client may undertake specific steps in response.

Nature of Business
Client is in the beauty care industry and provides service to the consumer market.

Problem at Hand
Client would like to expand the business. However, there are teething problems faced in the course of expansion. Client does not have the proper controls in place nor the proper accounting system to ensure smooth running of its daily operations.

QBA first analyzed and reviewed the existing business operations. We identified some existing processes and procedures which are not ideal for the client in light of their expansion plans. A business process realignment was carried out in which suggestions were put forward to the client for them to revise the processes before continuing with their expansion plans.

Client is in the textile manufacturing business.

The company is about to be acquired by a listed company.

QBA was engaged to conduct due diligence on behalf of the listed takeover company. A study and analysis was carried out to investigate the expected benefits of the acquisition as well as to highlight the impeding issues surrounding the financial and operations expectations and obligations of the two parties during and after the acquisition process. 


BizAd :: Full Accounting, Costing and Internal Control Turnover
Nature of Business
The client has been in operations since October 1992 and is an electronic component trading firm with manufacturing operations based in Thailand.

Problem at Hand
While trying to set up the new manufacturing facility in Thailand, the client realized that it was lacking in financial and accounting advise. The accounting and internal control system was lacking resulting in the client's inability to accurately access the financial condition of its Thailand operations.

Based on the client's operational needs, an internal control review was carried out which was quickly followed up with a detailed implementation plan for the accounting and costing processes. The existing accounting records were also quickly and accurately sorted out to ensure proper continuity and transparency to its management.


BizAd :: Clearing of Accounting Backlog
Nature of Business
Client is a web hosting company that has been in operations since 2000.

Problem at Hand
Over the last 4 years, the accounts for this company was not properly carried out. The client failed to carry out any proper accounting procedures and failed to adhere to the regulatory filing requirements as required by the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA). Since then, there has been a dispute in the partnership and the company has been slated to be dissolved at the soonest opportunity.

Despite the ceasing of operations, proper financial and accounting reporting is still a statuary requirement. QBA was engaged to sort out the accounting records for the past 4 years and to consolidate them into standard financial accounting statements for presentation to the external auditors. Thereafter, QBA represented the client in its dealing with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) for the regulatory filings.

Nature of Business
Client is strategically placed in the retail sector of the Food & Beverage industry and has been in operations for one and a half years.

During the course of business, there was a partnership dispute as no accounting records were kept because the client had a problem with keeping up-to-date accounts.

QBA was engaged to sort out the accounting issues and to help the client with keeping the records up-to-date. QBA then provided the client with a set of accounting records, completed and verified by QBA, for his presentation to his partners and their respective legal advisers.

Client is in the construction industry and has been in operations for 6 months.

The company is welcoming on board new partners with new investments. As such, there is a need for the company to provide these new partners with a set of proper accounts, clearing indicating the financial health of hte company. However, the client has yet to establish any form of accounting processes and procedures in its midst of generating revenue.

QBA was engaged to help the client sort out the accounting records for filing and documentation. The final report submitted by QBA was then used by the client for submission to the new partners indicating the transparency in the accounting procedures and the overall financial health of the company.

Nature of Business
Client is in the business of distributing ball bearings and parts for machineries.

Problem at Hand
Client has previously attempted to build a network system to facilitate the business processes and decision making. However, the internal IT department of the company is made up of mainly technicians and engineers whom are unable to understand the business needs of the management. As a result, there was a complete mis-match in expectations between the management and the IT department.

Having completed an initial analysis of the current operations, QBA consultants interviewed the management team to understand their needs, alerting them of the technology advances and misconceptions. Having a finalized set of requirements, a re-design of the existing IT infrastructure was taken and a blue-print of the required changes was presented to the management for budgetary and conceptual approval. Having liked what they have seen, the QBA consultants then worked hand in hand with the IT department to translate the blue-print into reality, constantly communicating with the IT department so that they understand the business requirements. Upon completion of deployment by the IT department, QBA consultants conduct a review and a final presentation was made to the management, along with the IT department in the entire process, highlighting both the improvements from a business and technology perspective.

Nature of Business
Client is in the business of distributing specialty chemicals in the Asia-Pacific region and has been in operations for the last 10 years.

Problem at Hand
Over the years, the client has been able to gradually grow the business and establish remote offices in the various Asia-Pacific countries. At present, there is no way of communicating between the remote offices and the headquarters in Singapore. File transfers are usually carried out by email which is inefficient and places a restriction on the file size.

QBA has been engaged to provide a proposal for improvement. Having completed an initial analysis of the current operations, QBA consultants reviewed the business operations and the current IT infrastructure. Coupled with the extensive knowledge of available technologies, the consultants conduct a re-design of the IT infrastructure and presented to the management various solutions with a vary degree of budgetary considerations, solutions that will provide the necessary communication and file transfer needs in addition to the ability of being able to securely transfer and query various operating parameters of the various remote offices. The accepted proposal was then handed over to the client's existing System Integrator who was able to purchase and integrate the solutions with the assistance of the QBA consultants.
